RUTGERS COMMUNITY MUSIC PROGRAM

Line

RCMP is a community music program offering music instruction for all ages, operating under the auspices of Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts, Department of Music.

Philosophy and History

The Rutgers Community Music Program (RCMP) offers private and group music instruction to the people of New Brunswick, Rutgers University, and surrounding communities. RCMP faculty are dedicated teachers and performers who encourage students of all ages to explore the world of music on their chosen instrument. Musical instruction is tailored to suit the needs of each individual, but all students are encouraged to grow and excel as both players and interpreters of music. No auditions are required.

Founded in 1993, RCMP today includes over 400 students and 40 faculty and staff who enjoy together the benefits of studying and performing music in a university setting. RCMP maintains a dynamic link between university and community.
