| Jazz Combo Camp |
July 14-19, 2008
Come join the 4th Annual Jazz Combo Camp and peform jazz combos which enhance a student's creativity and natural instincts to play by ear. The following talented and active jazz performers and teachers will help students gain an appreciation for jazz music through recordings, live performances, and seminars:

Todd Bashore, Master of Music, Saxophone
Christopher Brown, Master of Music, Saxophone
Alex Hernandez, Bachelor Studies, Bass
Students will develop skills in jazz improvisation and performance while playing challenging music. The camp culminates in a performance for family and friends.
Camp Highlights
- Play challenging music with performance opportunities for everyone.
- Close interaction with professional artist faculty.
- Perform in combos from standard jazz literature by Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, and more.
- Daily clinics and masterclasses on performance, audition issues, history, theory, music business, and possible guest artists from MGSA faculty and the jazz world.
- Ensembles formed on the basis of the students' performance abilities.
Prerequisites
Open to intermediate and advanced Piano, Clarinet, Saxophone, Drum, String or Electric Bass, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, and Voice students with at least two years experience on their instrument.
Ensemble Placement Auditions
Call 732-932-8618 by May 15 to schedule an audition time to be placed in ensembles based on your level. Students must be registered before auditioning.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is a day camp only, are are no overnight accommodations.
Tuition
Includes tuition and catered lunch Monday to Friday.
Before May 15: $550
After May 15: $575
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due with the application. The balance is due by June 1st. Registrations received after May 15th must be paid in full.
